Apple HomeKit support:

This device is certified for use with Apple HomeKit. The gateway does not support the simultaneous use of Apple HomeKit and Tuya, you need to choose one system. For optimal functionality, it is advisable to extend Apple HomeKit with a home hub, which is used for access outside the local network. For example, Apple TV or Apple Homepod support this function. As of IOS 16, it is not possible to use the Ipad as a hub in the new architecture.

The CEL-TEC E90-C central unit is characterized by high compatibility with many ZigBee devices from different manufacturers. It is not a device designed only to work with a specific product line of one brand. The CEL-TEC E90-C model is also equipped with a LAN connector (RJ-45) for cable connection to the Internet.

ZigBee protocol - Mesh network

ZigBee is a system based on a secure protocol that, among other things, enables the wireless operation of home appliances powered by batteries with a long operating time.

ZigBee differs from a classic WiFi network primarily in that it has a sufficiently long battery life (which is not possible with the classic WiFi protocol).

In addition, selected ZigBee devices (powered by 230 V mains) will become part of the Mesh network. This means that if the module cannot connect directly to the ZigBee gateway, it communicates with it through another closest accessory of this system. Repeaters in the ZigBee ecosystem are 230 V powered devices.

This makes it possible to create an extensive network that can operate at much greater distances than a classic WiFi network.
