Individual stages of purification

Pre-filter - Basic Filter: The polluted air must pass through a pre-filter to catch any large particles such as pet hair, mold and dust particles, etc.

TM HEPA filter - This is a True HEPA filter that captures 99.97% of all allergens, virus particles, pollen, mold and mildew down to 0.3 microns. It effectively removes the smallest particles of dust and tobacco smoke, while the antibacterial thiabendazole (an organic antibacterial compound), neutralizes germs, mold spores and more, thus preventing the possibility of infection.

Activated Carbon Filter is an important filtration method for dealing with smoke, odors and smells. Activated carbon filter is widely used in air purifiers because this air filter is the only solution to adsorb and remove smoke and odors and chemical fumes.

Air ionizer(also known as an ion filter or ion generator) is one of the most popular and effective air filters used by air purifiers. Rather than using a fan to pull polluted air into a physical air filter, a self-contained air ionizer uses electricity to emit a cloud of negative ions (or anions) to electrically charge air molecules. As a result, the negative ions become charged and attract harmful air particles, which increase in size by aggregation and which are then drawn in and trapped by the mechanical HEPA air filter.

Unlike a True HEPA filter, which is capable of processing 99.97% of all particles down to 0.3 microns in size, an air ionizer can reduce allergens to as small as 0.1 microns.

WARNING:The VIKING KJ1000 Replacement Filter Kit consists of only one composite filter, which can be inserted on either the right or left side of the purifier. The VIKING KJ1000 air purifier requires TWO composite filters to function properly (i.e., TWO VIKING KJ1000 Replacement Filter Kits must be ordered for complete filter replacement!)
