The Fomei PRO APO 80 telescope is designed for observing or photographing distant objects.

The body of the telescope is made of kevral with a built-in sliding sun visor. A camera adapter must be used to connect the DSLR camera, see accessories. The telescope corresponds to a 560mm / F6.0 telephoto lens. The optical system is manufactured using ED technology with APO construction , which ensures high edge sharpness and prevents color distortion. The telescope is equipped with a two-speed focusing device, which ensures fast and accurate focusing even when observing very distant objects. The optical output is 2 ", a reduction for 1.25" is included.

What is ED (Extra-low Dispersion) technology? The so-called ED glasses (Extra-low Dispersion) - materials with very small dispersion / "light decay" - are preferably used in the construction of lenses. When light passes through any material, it refracts (decays) at an angle that is proportional to the properties of the optical material (refractive index). Due to the fact that the refractive index of a material varies for different wavelengths of incident radiation, as white light passes through the material, it decomposes into a spectrum. The white image is thus divided into a set of color images that have different sizes and focus positions. Thus, it is not ideally possible to focus an image without colored, "rainbow" framing, which then has a major effect on the brightness and edge sharpness of the lens. Some manufacturers (now also FOMEI) use materials with extremely small dispersion (ED glass), ie the dependence of the refractive index on the wavelength, in the construction of lenses. Thanks to this, it is possible to minimize the color defect and achieve a practically ideal display, brightness and edge sharpness of the image. These features are used, for example, by FOMEI LEADER PRO ED binoculars.

To connect a DSLR camera, it is necessary to use a camera adapter, see. accessories. To observe objects, the telescope must be supplemented with a prism and an eyepiece. We recommend original FOMEI accessories.
