FOMEI FOREMAN® Spotting Scopes are equipped with ED glasses with minimal light scattering. It brings a sharp contrasting image and great viewing comfort thanks to a large lens and prisms with high transmittance.
Model variant 20-60x80 FOREMAN ED (S) "straight" is equipped with a straight eyepiece . Its advantage is manifested mainly on shooting ranges or when observing sports matches, where the observer ideally maintains horizontal contact with the object. In this case, it is necessary to use a stable tripod.
The main advantage of the FOREMAN ED model line lies in the anti-reflective SMC layers with high light transmission. The combination of a large lens, SMC layers and ED glass components guarantees the FOREMAN telescope exceptional observation capabilities. The resolution of the optical system guarantees accurate observation of details over long distances.
The FOREMAN spotting scopes also include a "dual focusing" function. The main advantage is the combination of fast - coarse focusing and slower - fine sharpening . This feature is an invaluable aid, especially when viewing at long distances, when precise focusing is required. The demanding observer will appreciate the high edge sharpness and resolution of the optical system in ornithology, hunting or the sports shooting range.
The waterproof body filled with dry nitrogen allows the use of Spotting Scops in any weather. The binoculars come in a protective case.
The DSLR (SLR) camera can be mounted on the 20-60x80 FOREMAN ED using an adapter and the appropriate T2 reducer (Canon, Nikon, etc.).
Available variants and models:
* (A) model with angled eyepiece
* (S) model with direct eyepiece
What is ED (Extra-low dispersion) technology.
The so-called ED glasses (Extra-low dispersion) are preferably used in the construction of lenses. ED glasses are materials with a very small dispersion. When light passes through any material, it refracts at an angle that is proportional to the properties of the optical material (refractive index). Due to the fact that the refractive index of a material varies for different wavelengths of incident radiation, as white light passes through the material, it decomposes into a spectrum. The white image is thus divided into a set of color images that have different sizes and focus positions. Thus, it is not ideally possible to focus an image without colored, "rainbow" framing, which then has a major effect on the brightness and edge sharpness of the lens. Some manufacturers (now also FOMEI) use materials with extremely small dispersion (ED glass), ie the dependence of the refractive index on the wavelength, in the construction of lenses. Thanks to this, it is possible to minimize the color defect and achieve a practically ideal display, brightness and edge sharpness of the image.
Spectrum review
"I chose the FOMEI 20-60x80 FOREMAN model for the test. The first impression was great. The black cardboard box is neutral, it contained its own monocular in a bubble wrap. When you get used to the "observer" with a 70 mm lens, the eighties are suddenly so big, even if you unwrap it from "bubbles". The impression of size may be enhanced by the fact that this time I chose the direct eyepiece design for the test. "
