The infrared beam is transmitted pulsed between the transmitter and receiver, which increases the resistance to weather conditions and disturbances. High-quality aspherical lenses are used for beam directing, which minimize the attenuation of IR beams and shape them into the required beam, which is maintained even over long distances. The alarm is only triggered if both beams are interrupted at the same time.
